No More Bad Passwords In 2017

Forty-eight days. That’s all we have left until January 1, 2017.

Have you made your 2017 New Year’s Resolutions yet? Better yet, did you achieve any of your 2016 New Year’s Resolutions? According to StaticBrain, 45% of Americans make New Year’s Resolutions each year. Yet, only 8% of them are successful in achieving their New Year’s Resolutions. Well, it’s not too late to achieve your 2016 New Year’s Resolutions.

Everyone enjoys reading the “Top 10 Lists.” Each year, many news sources report what the top 10 most common New Year’s Resolutions are. Chances are, your resolutions will align with the mass majority. For this past year, top of the list are: lose weight, quit smoking, eat healthier, spend more time with family, volunteer, and set better financial goals. What do all of these New Year’s Resolutions have in common? Answer: To Better Yourself.

With bettering yourself, that also means making smarter choices. Don’t continue your bad password habits into 2017 – it’s time to put an end to bad passwords! No more Password1!

As I mentioned earlier, we have forty-eight days left until January 1, 2017. We understand, new work projects take time for the testing and evaluation phase, approval from management, and procurement process. However, if you “get the ball rolling” this week, you will be able to have the nFront Password Filter successfully implemented and deployed with ample amount of time to spare… and possibly use the last bit of your budget before it is forfeited by the end of the year!

Here’s your workplace game plan:

Today (November 14, 2016) – Request a quote for the nFront Password Filter.

This Week (November 14, 2016 – November 18, 2016) – Hold a meeting this week with your colleagues to inform them that you will be testing a new software to implement a more secure password policy. Make sure all of your colleagues understand the importance of using strong passwords.

Next Monday (November 21, 2016) – Go to nFront Security’s website and download a free copy of the nFront Password Filter. This is the full version of the software; it is just limited to 30 days. Be sure to install the software.

Next Week (November 22, 2016 – November 25, 2016) – Get to know the software. Watch the installation and configuration videos on our YouTube Channel. Try to configure the policies on your own and determine what version of the software will be best for your company. Do you want all employees to have the same password policy (Single Policy Edition)? Or do you want to have a few different password policies and enforce a more strict password policy for employees that have access to sensitive material (Multiple Policy Edition)?

Two Weeks From Today (November 28, 2016) – Get together with your management team and see what everyone’s availability is to have a technical demo with one of our software engineers.

The Following Two Weeks (November 28, 2016 – December 9, 2016) – Spend the next two weeks evaluating the software and learn how to best optimize it on your company’s network.

Week of December 5, 2016 (December 12, 2016 – December 16, 2016) – Work with your purchasing department to finalize vendor paperwork and submit a Purchase Order to our team at nFront Security.

December 20, 2016 – This is the last day of the free trial of the nFront Password Filter.

There you have it. As I previously stated, there is still plenty of time to spare! What are you waiting for? Make 2017 the year of No More Bad Passwords!
